Mills Landing is an oceanfront cottage resort that offers authentic west coast fishing experiences. When the Covid-19 travel restrictions were lifted, they were ready to welcome back visitors to their remote location. But in order to do so, they needed to find a way to attract them. As a long-time client of Array Studios, they reached back out for support with web design and web development. And we were ready for the challenge.

What Work Did We Do For Them?

How Did We Help Them Out?

  • Using their existing logo design, our graphic designers created a complementary colour palette by adding two lighter blues and yellow for contrast. The blues connect back to the open sky and sea, while the yellow is inspired by traditional fisherman jackets. For typography, we matched a serif font with a sans serif font to create a classic, yet modern look.
  • To keep the site visually engaging, our graphic design team created custom iconography, illustrations, and elements. This includes links styled as hooks that animate on hover, and a custom illustrated map and pin. This removes the need to rely heavily on photography, adds depth, and makes content easy to digest.
  • Our web developers built a custom single-page website with a blog feature. To highlight local attractions, the blog is specifically used to showcase travel information. Content is also SEO-rich to maintain a good ranking on search engines like Google. The top-level navigation anchors to sections on the homepage making content quick to access.
  • Web development is responsive on both desktop and mobile.
