The Saanich Predators are a junior ‘B’ hockey team based in Saanich, B.C. Formerly called The Saanich Braves, they recently changed their name to better represent their team and community. As part of the Mike Geric Construction family, they reached out to Array to create a brand identity and website inspired by their new direction. Our team was ready for the challenge!

How Did We Help Them Out?

  • Based on a group exercise with the Saanich Pred’s team, our graphic design team created a badge-style logo that can be applied to merchandise and marketing collateral such as jerseys, hats, and signage. The orca was chosen as their mascot because it’s native to the west coast and represents both strength and teamwork.
  • For their brand identity, our graphic designers used vibrant teal and a complimentary yellow for their primary colour palette as a connection to land and sea. To match their bold logo, we opted for a clean sans serif font with a strong line-weight to keep content consistent and clear.
  • Our web development team programmed a customized site with a homepage that shifts between three different layouts depending on what features are switched on in the backend. The web design is broken into digestible blocks, which is a common practice across professional sports websites.
  • The website is responsive on both desktop and mobile and keeps users engaged with animated hover states identifying calls-to-actions.
