House of Kiyo

A brand presence that exudes effortless sophistication and class.

Location
Nanaimo, BC

House of Kiyo is a full-service spa based in Nanaimo, B.C. As long-time partners of Array, we’ve collaborated together on various iterations of their web design and web development, from 2010 to now. At the start of 2023, Kiyo moved into a new salon space and recognized an opportunity for a brand makeover. They onboarded our award-winning graphic design team to update their brand, signage, and brand collateral to reflect their fresh start.

How Did We Help Them Out?
  • To kick things off, we updated the existing logo design to align with the minimalist style of Kiyo’s new interiors. The updated logo boasts a clean and modern sans serif font, while the icon and wordmark are presented in a thinner weight to portray a sense of airiness and modern simplicity. The lightness of this concept coveys a sleek design and creates contrasts.
  • With the updated logo design in place, we updated Kiyo’s brand standards with a refreshed logo palette and typography. The brand standards serves as a guideline to ensure brand consistency across all print and digital touch points.
  • Our web development team upgraded the website with graphic design assets created by our web designers. The site is responsive on desktop and mobile making it easy for clients to view services and book.
  • Our graphic designers put together aesthetically pleasing interior signage including a pin-mounted logo in the same colour as the wall to maintain Kiyo’s tone-on-tone style. For the windows, we put together an icon die-cut for a full window frosting. This ties the design back to the treatment on the exterior signage of the spa for brand consistency.
  • To help guide spa clients through the space, our graphic designs created custom iconography for wayfinding decals on the walls throughout the spa.
  • For the exterior signage, our graphic design team created decaled graphics that feature brand names, business hours, booking and social media information. The exterior windows are frosted to match the interior space and provide privacy.
  • To ensure a consistent brand experience long after a client has left their appointment, our graphic designers updated Kiyo’s business cards, gift cards, and client care cards according to our established brand standards.
