The Nail Lounge

Recreating a nail salon brand to fit a new location and space.

The Nail Lounge is a female-owned and locally operated nail salon based in Nanaimo, B.C. With plans to move into a larger location in Central Nanaimo, they reached out to our team to rebrand their business to better align with the new direction their business was headed. Our team of graphic designers got to work creating a brand that would say goodbye to their outgrown identity, and hello to a new, timeless look.

How Did We Help Them Out?
  • For the logo design, our team chose an elegant serif font with a unique ligature between the “U” and “N” to create a sense of motion and approachability. The graphic is paired with a sans serif font with rounded finishes to create a timeless and modern aesthetic that’s intelligent, inclusive, and stylish. For a colour palette, our team introduced a rich, chocolate torte colour that adds warmth and comfort to the brand.
  • With an established brand in place, our graphic designers created social media profile graphics for Instagram and Facebook with an alternative logo design that turns “the” on its side for simplicity and to maximize space.
  • Fun fact—The Nail Lounge partnered with interior designer (and our client) Studio AE to design their new location. We’re excited to see how Studio AE incorporates the new brand into the interior space!
The Nail Lounge logo features a wordmark in an elegant serif font, highlighted by a unique ligature between the “U” and “N” that conveys motion and approachability. Paired with a sans-serif font with soft, rounded edges, the design balances timeless sophistication with a modern, inclusive, and stylish appeal.
