Driving new memberships for family physicians practicing dermatology with a custom e-commerce solution.

The Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada (PCSDC) is a physician-based organization committed to improving awareness, treatment, and support for dermatological issues faced by primary care physicians. Looking to attract more members to the organization and provide a centralized location for resources, they approached our Nanaimo marketing agency to redesign and redevelop their existing site. Our team was ready to support their mission by delivering a website that encourages and drives membership while promoting opportunities for further education through their annual conference.

How Did We Help Them Out?
  • Based on supplied briefing docs, our digital marketing team kicked off with a Keyword Analysis to improve search engine rankings and get key pages in front of the target audience. Using the optimized keyword list, we then put together an Information Architecture to establish page hierarchy.
  • Our team of copywriters initiated content design by reviewing and refining existing content to create a compelling narrative journey. Our copywriters then crafted engaging headlines, positioning statements, value propositions, and important calls-to-action that would resonate with the target audience and inspire them to sign up to become a member or attend the annual conference.
  • With content in place, our web designers then took all necessary functions into consideration and began designing key page templates using PCDSC’s existing brand. The new site includes custom iconography to help visually communicate benefits of becoming a member as well as sticky icons across all site-pages that prompt users to sign up for the conference or become a member. The web design is fully responsive for both mobile and desktop devices.
  • Our web developers built a dynamic E-commerce system that can handle both membership signup and conference registration. Once someone becomes a member, they have access to a member’s only resource section where they can manage their account information, access an interactive resource library with PDFS for download and videos, and stay-up-to-date on any events PCDSC chooses to promote.
  • To help promote and manage the annual conference, the site has dedicated pages that feature this year’s sponsors, program, and past events. The site is custom developed in WordPress giving PCDSC the ability to manage all content in the backend so they can continue to update information each year.
  • Conference registration and payments are managed with a robust Events plugin with Stripe connectivity. Our web developers programmed conference and membership forms to display different payment tiers depending on selections made by the end user.
  • To help support PCDSC’s mission to facilitate timely access to excellent dermatological care for all Canadians, our web design and web development teams created an interactive table that features all PCDSC physician members and their clinic information. Upon signing up to become a physician member, details are automatically pulled into the table. To improve the user experience, someone searching for a physician in their location can sort the Physician Locator by name, city, or province.
