Specsavers is one of the world’s largest optical retail chains, with locations in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and now Canada. Following their acquisition of Image Optometry, a former client of Array, Specsavers reached out to our team to reskin the mobile app we had custom-built for Image Optometry as part of their rebranding and launch into the Canadian market. Working within a tight deadline, we revamped the application with an intuitive design that improves the quality of the in-store sales tool that is now being used in Specsavers stores across Canada.

How Did We Help Them Out?
  • We rebuilt their retail iPad app to match the Specsavers brand, incorporating their established logo design, brand colours, fonts, and added new content options for users.
  • We streamlined the user experience by designing a user interface that guides the user through a flexible onboarding process, allowing each customer to input their prescription in real-time while being taken step-by-step through frame, lens and coating options.
  • At the end of the glasses selection process, users are given the option to print out summaries of their information, including prescription details and pricing, allowing them to save their information for a future purchase. Soon, we will be adding an email submission of results option for a more sustainable information-sharing option.
  • To ensure customers don’t miss out on limited-time offers, the app design informs customers of special promotions throughout the selection process. To help customers pick the right glasses for their needs, we incorporated information boxes that allow customers to customize their glasses by providing them with additional information on the differences between the various lenses, coating options, and materials.
