This past Friday may have been America’s Independence Day, but creatives and innovators in the Central Vancouver Island technology sector were celebrating for a different reason!
July 4th, 2014 marked the launch of Nanaimo’s first technology incubator and co-working space, SquareOne, an initiative headed up by Innovation Island and the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation (NEDC). This was not only an exciting day for those currently in the industry, but future entrepreneurs and startups, and the region’s economy in general. The sector is on trend to keep expanding, and co-working spaces foster a community spirit while growing the industry. Nanaimo is a great place to live, and a thriving tech ecosystem means that talented people can stay and work here, too.
The Array team was excited to be a part of this occasion. The launch was definitely an inspiring and momentous event, and the Summer Tech Party afterward was a great time to celebrate, as well as connect and reconnect with others in the industry. Hans Peter Meyer provided great coverage and insight into the event, take a peek at his blog post and photos.
Wishing all those involved the brightest of futures!
